Cornelius (Neil) DeVries Jr. – 83 years of Miller Mills NY - October 7, 1941 –went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 15, 2024. He was born in Prospect Park, NJ, graduated from Hawthorne High School and served our country in the US Navy.
Neil was employed at Faber Plumbing & Heating where he held the position of Vice President and then moved on to his lifelong dream as a dairy farmer to raise his family. Neil referred to himself as an armchair sailor, and eventually brought that passion to life restoring several sail boats with a personal touch that only Neil could craft. As a young man Neil spent much of his youth with his brothers hunting and fishing. His favorite place to visit was Maine where he brought life to his sailing passion on his boat “Gezellig”. For Neil’s entire life, his single biggest commitment and passion was to serve the Lord in any way he could.
He is survived by the love of his life and best friend of 61 years Judie, his sister Jessica Hazen, loving son Todd (wife Julie), parents of three of his grandchildren Jordan, Kiara (husband Ryan) and Joshua, daughter Amy DeVries (partner Marty Sacco) mother to his fourth grandchild Cody and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Pre-deceased by his brothers Buddy and Jack.
A special thank you to Helios Care, Dr. Edmunds and all those who provided comfort, caretaking and love during his extended illness.
His final farewell to everyone is to love Jesus and “I’ll see you at the Gate” John 3:16
Neil is now with his King, sailing his golden vessel on the seas of heaven, looking to the horizon till he’s reunited again with all those he loved so much.
